Sports Funding
Annually the schools receive funding to support the development of PE and sport activities that are sustainable. It is the Federation’s intention to create a legacy of sporting excellence through participation in St. Bart’s sporting events and through local sporting opportunities. Across the federation CPD opportunities are provided and an investment is made in training and resources to ensure high quality provision continues into the future.
In 2024-2025, 63% of Year 6 pupils met the national curriculum requirement to swim competently confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25m. 88% of Year 6 pupils were able to use a range of different stroke effectively, with 71% able to perform safe self-rescue in different water based situations. All children from Year 2 to Year 6 are able to attend swimming sessions, as the school hires an on-site swimming pool with trained swimming instructors on an annual basis. This has had a positive impact on access and outcomes for all children. The school acknowledges the importance of children being able to swim, especially due to the close proximity of open water in the local area.
